RAVN Systems, experts in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Enterprise Search solutions, is pleased to announce that one of its clients, international law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP), has won the award for Modernising Legacy Systems at the Ovum Industry Congress. This was for its use of a RAVN ACE robot within one of its legal practices.
BLP has used RAVN ACE to create what it believes to be the UK’s first contract robot, to work within its Real Estate Disputes practice, putting it at the cutting edge of innovation in the legal sector. It allows lawyers to focus on higher value work for clients.
RAVN ACE is a cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence solution which reads, interprets and extracts specific information from documents. It converts unstructured data into structured output, in a fraction of the time it takes a human – and with a higher degree of accuracy.
BLP’s contract robot uses ACE core functionality to extract data from standard legal documents, cross-check the data internally, check it against external sources, and write the output into a structured form, making it ready for the next stage of the process.
Wendy Miller, Partner and Joint Head of Real Estate Disputes, commented: “We are delighted with the continued success and recognition in implementing this cutting edge technology. By using RAVN ACE, we’ve been able to deliver fantastic results to our clients. The technology allows us to work more effectively and efficiently, ensuring that our lawyers are able to get on and do what they do best; offering the best legal advice possible.”
This technology has already proved successful as BLP won the award for ‘Best Use of Technology’ at the British Legal Awards 2015 for its use of a RAVN ACE robot within one of its legal practices.
RAVN Systems also recently won “Best Enterprise Start-up’ at the Techies Awards as well as being shortlisted for the ‘Supplier Innovation’ award at the Legal Week Innovation Awards in May for their success with the AI technology.
The Ovum Industry Congress award ceremony was held on the 11 May 2016 at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel. The event focused on innovation, highlighting innovative ideas, products and business models that enable end-user organisations to create real value in their business.
